Ingredients needed for cornflakes

* Yellow cornmeal -3 cups

*granulated white sugar: 2 tablespoon

* salt: one teaspoon

*Vanilla extract: 2 tablespoon

*Cup of clean water: 4 cups.

Take a clean bowl, mix 2 and half cups of cornmeal along with sugar, salt and vanilla extract and mix all of them together.

Slowly start adding water, a little at a time, and keep stirring until the batter becomes smooth.

Add more water if necessary if you feel the batter is too thick as you want the consistency of your batter to look similar to that of pancake batter.

* The next thing to do is to line the baking tray with foil paper and grease lightly with oil .

* Then pour the prepared batter on the baking tray and spread it out evenly to make a thin layer of about ¼ inches. *With 2 teaspoon of water combine the remaining ½ cup of cornmeal.

Mix them together until the mixture starts looking similar to breadcrumbs *Sprinkle the top of this batter on top of the other batter in the tray which will help give it a more crunchy texture .

*Put the tray in the middle rack of a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until the batter gives a cracked look.

*Lower the heat down to 250 degrees and remove the tray from the oven. Let it cool down for some time and then you begin to crack this batter into small flakes with your hands.

*Put the tray back to the oven until the flakes become golden brown and crispy. *Once it is done, you can serve with milk and sugar and store the remaining cornflakes in an air tight container.
